Taking a melatonin supplement helps regulate the sleep cycle, fall asleep faster, and improve some aspects of sleep quality. Within the body, naturally produced melatonin helps regulate our circadian rhythm, including the sleep cycle. It is secreted by the pineal gland from nightfall to indicate to the body that it is time to sleep soon. Once the melatonin peak is reached around 2:00 - 3:00 a.m., the amount of melatonin secreted decreases to signal to the body that it is almost time to wake up. Each individual naturally secretes a different amount of melatonin. It is therefore essential to find the dosage of melatonin that suits you because the needs may be different for each individual. Dosage is key, as too much melatonin can have the opposite effect and prevent you from falling asleep. It is advisable to start with the lowest dose and gradually increase until you find the one that suits you best.

Adults (18 years and older): Take 1 to 2 tablets once a day at or before bedtime and let the tablet(s) melt under the tongue.

For jet lag, take once a day at bedtime, while travelling, and at destination until adapted to the new time zone/or daily pattern
