Good to know
The recommended daily dietary intake is 50 mcg/day to maintain good health. Foods rich in biotin include egg yolk, liver, grains (wheat, oats), vegetables (spinach, mushrooms), and rice. Dairy products and breast milk also contain biotin.
Although frank, symptomatic biotin deficiency is rare, some data suggest that marginal biotin deficiency occurs spontaneously in a significant proportion of women during normal human pregnancy and may confer an increased risk of congenital malformations.
